I was going to have my car painted with BC/CC. I have come across a deal in which I can get all the Acrylic Enamel and reducer and hardener needed to do it for free. I have a gallon of paint and reducer and quart of hardener now. Will that be enough or should I get more? I think it is SW paint. I will have to check to be sure. I even have a guy that runs a body shop that will spray it at my house when it is time. The paint is black and I know the body will have to be next to perfect or it will show. I was having a hard time deciding between red or black and had just about decided to go with red until this deal came up. Can I spray a clear coat over the enamel? I know that it is possible to get some trash in the paint and one of the main reasons that I wanted BC/CC was to be able to buff out the trash in the clear and that I think that BC/CC is shinner. Even though I wanted BC/CC, I can save quite a lot of money using the black acrylic enamel. If needed or if I decide to at a later date, can I eventually paint BC/CC over the enamel? Give me some thoughts on my delima.

Just spring for the BC/CC now and be done. Its not that much more.I wouldn't use the enamel even if it was free.

I use that to paint End loaders and such. You will be MUCH more happier with BC/CC on your car. The cost is there but the end results will be worth it.

I've been in the autobody business for 30+years and the last time
I sprayed a car with enamel must have been in the 80s.I would'nt paint my wore out lawn mower with that stuff. For sure free is not allways the best

I visited with a guy at a local body shop and he said the same. Looks like I will need to spring for the BC/CC and just use the free enamel with some flattener and black out under my 81 Chevy with 13" of lift. I have to do that every three or four years and usually used spray cans but that was before my air compressor was purchased. And I may use some of it in my fender wells on my 69 RS/SS. Thanks for the input.

We paint snow plows and sanders with enamel and still feel like we're cheating people

Use base/clear. And if you can afford it use Glasurit. It's hard to beat. I have used it for a long time.
