Tore every nut and bolt and wire off a '67 ragtop and labelled everything - at least I thought I did. Now with car back together, I am finishing wiring connections. For the heater there is a harness going to both the controls and the heater/blower. There is an orange wire with an open ended connector - hot wire I believe that is not labelled - i think it fell off. Any idea where it connects? It isw not part of teh harnes to either the controls or the blower/heater - both have orange (hot) leads as well as other wires - all connected to the harness.

I'm guessing cigarette lighter?
Is it all alone and with a small black round connector?

Orange is the live wire for key off accessories..including cig lighter...
It is the same for GM in the US, GM Holden in Aussie and Vauxall in Brittan.
Just love the GM international stardisation.

Nope not Cig Lighter. I think this was connected somewhere to the heater/blower - that is what my memory tels me but.....whatever label I had on it fel off. I will connect the battery this wekend to see if I get normal operation from the heater and fan controls. I am pretty sure that it is supposed to be live wire as orange is standard for +'ve. I will also check to see that is true when I go live this weekend. the connector on the end of the wire is in the shape of a flat hook.

If its a wire with looks to be a hook on the end of it, it should be the glove box light. Check in a AIM and it should be in there. The cig. lighter is orange but has a black connector on it. Wes
