Hey all, I purchaced a new complete floor for my 67 coupe (D&R Classics) and there is some conflicting info about removing my old floor. The conflicting info is about wheather to brace the body before removing the old floor to keep the body lones straight, I have asked this question before but could not find in the old post in a search.

If you are going to remove the entire floor pan at once and replace it with the one piece unit you should brace the car before doing any cutting. I would at least brace from the upper rear door jamb to opposite rocker and rear jamb to front same side rocker on both door openings. Take a some cross measurements (write them down and/ or diagram them) so you can compare later. You will also need to support the body with it's suspension loaded if at all possible (stands under the axle and lower a-arms [ramps work well if wheels are on]). Remember to get the car up high enough to be able to manuever the new pan, and yourself, underneath the car and into place. You will need to pull the engine and tranny to do this procedure.

I have already completely removed every thing from the car accept the rear end, the subframe is out so all I have to support is at the subframe mounts (Front) and the rear end. Where should I go from here?

I just got done with my new floor install. I didn't brace anything, and my doors line up perfect still. It is a coupe, and I removed everything, rear end, subframe, gutted the entire car. I used jackstands under the front rockers and at the rear frame rails. Plenty of room to manuever the floor in place. I have many pictures if you want to see my progress. I wish I had a rotisserie though. Welding the pan to the rockers was kinda PITA. After I got done, I had to put in my seats to check it out. WOW! what a big difference and looks fantastic. My car is on Hobbystage, but I haven't figured out how to put my progress pics on there. Maybe someone here can guide me there. Email me if you want to see my floor.
