Wow.
Looks like they nailed it pretty good. Other than #8. I don't think they are that out of line with the 2000 prices, but I could be wrong.

quote......
Two others cars on the list are "homologation specials," created specifically to qualify a model for the stock-car racing circuit. Nascar rules at the time said that manufacturers had to make a certain number of cars available for sale to the public. The rules didn't say that anyone had to actually buy them, though.

They forgot the other great "homologation specials" like the ZL1 Camaro built to run NHRA Super Stock. It must have gone from about $200K to $900K since the year 2000. Even the 427 L72 Camaro and Chevelle can be considered "homologation specials" as I am not sure Chevy would have ever allowed them to be built if it were not for the racing rule book. Other "homologation specials" ....1967 Z/28 , 1968 Hemi Dart and Baracuda, 1968 428 Cobra Jet Mustang, 429 Boss Mustang, and a bunch of "Areo" cars made just to race.

#2 because of all of the orange ones with a big 01 on the door.
