In October I was out of work for 2 weeks for a bad back.I am still having problems with the state approving my claim. Hopefully someone can help me figure out what I am doing wrong. I was out from work starting 10-16 & went back to work 10-30. Initially I wrongly claimed for sdi on 10-23. They sent me letter saying my claim has been disallowed from 10-23 through when eligible b/c I was not continuously disabled for at least 8 consecutive days.

I called them & they said I need to send a letter changing my effective date which was 10-23-06. I did this & asked them to change the effective date to 10-24-06. I just recieved a letter back from sdi saying it again has been disallowed, but now from 10-24 through the effective date b/c I was not continuously disabled for 8 consecutive days.:confused:

Isn't 8 days from 10-16-06 supposed to be Tuseday 10-24-06? If so then my caim should be approved but it is not.

I am wondering if the claim effective date is actually the first day I missed work & not the 8th day?

The form initially asked for the day disability began & the last day wroked. I wonder if those are supposed to be the same day 10-16-06?
