I see tons of posts where people are asking "where can I get..." or "who does quality work in my area...?". Also, lots of us are knee-deep in our projects and see no light at the end of the tunnel. And maybe no hope of getting there.... especially alone.
A lot of members here are already aware of the best resource there is for finding and getting help when it comes to their projects.... CAR CLUBS!
Granted, some members may not live in an area where there are local car clubs, or local clubs that cater to your favorite type of car, but I guarentee there are a handful in your state that fit the bill for you, and are always accepting new members.
We all know 'word-of-mouth' is the best salesman. Just look at the Team sites and what people have been able to accomplish by being members of these fine automotive jems! Without them, I shudder to think what my own Camaro would turn out to be.
If you're like a lot of project owners who are juggling a job, a family, other hobbies, and trying to complete a build on either no budget or a nickle-and-dime budget, and keep finding that you have no time to complete a certain portion the way you really want to.... join a local car club! I know there are members here who can attest to the fact that clubs are filled with members who like nothing more than to help their fellow car entheusiast. How many people here have been helped by someone from one of the Team sites and didn't even have to ask for it, and\or got something for free? It's the same way with car clubs.
I for one have gotten things done on my Camaro for free or by trading, and have been pointed in the right direction simply by asking the right people.... people who know someone who know someone else who have done it before or know how to get it done. All because they're club members.
Local car clubs are great resources for finding parts, lining up labor, trading information, trading labor for parts and parts for labor. All locally! I'm not saying car clubs are for everyone, and I'm sure some people have been in clubs and quit them for various reasons. But if you're feeling alone and are running out of ways or ideas on how to complete your project, check out some of the clubs in your area (or state). They don't even have to be Chevy clubs or muscle car clubs. Those types of clubs are usually smaller. It's the club that caters to all makes and models of all years that offer the most and best quality resources.
And they don't cost any more than Team Camaro does to join!
