View Full Version : How 'bout them Cowboys?!?!
clwilcox33 Nov 23rd, 06, 04:48 PM They're definately looking better each game they play. For those that watched the game, I think Joe Buck (one of the announcers) is in love with Romo. I get it....Romo is a good QB, and has been a huge benefit to the team, but shut up already about how much you like him ;) I think Troy Aikman (also announcing) got a little offended from a few of Joe's comments about Romo and how good he is compared to some past QBs for Dallas. I think the entire team played great.
jr68 Nov 23rd, 06, 04:54 PM Hey Chris , maybe you guys can get the wildcard. ( go Bears ) ;)
parkbrau Nov 23rd, 06, 07:14 PM Chris,
That was the first Dallas game I was able to watch this season. AFN doesnt show many games on T.V. and by the time they are on I'am half asleep. Anyway, yeah Joe Buck is a Jack ***. I would much rather listen to his father jack and Hank Stram announce the Monday Night Football games on the Radio back in the day. BTW, thats a good trivia pursuit question, which announcers have announced more MNF games than any other? Buck and Stram.
Parcell's should have made that move about 4 games ago.
thedugan Nov 23rd, 06, 07:28 PM After the loss to the Redskins I thought their season was over. They still have an issue with the kicker that will be a problem in the playoffs, the loss of Greg Ellis hurts, and w/ the Giants and Eagles injuries they can take the division.
But then at this point in the season last year they did have the same record and missed the playoffs.
Steptoe Nov 23rd, 06, 08:42 PM Ummm...go the All Blacks....?
Or do I have the wrong sort of football lol?
clwilcox33 Nov 23rd, 06, 08:53 PM Yeah, the kicker, Vanderjagt(sp), really is an issue. He kinda has me a bit boggled though. He's got the best kicking record in the league, but he just can't (or won't) get in the grove with the Cowboys. He's making way too much for a kicker to be missing like he is. He barely made a 22 yarder today.
3SuperSports Nov 23rd, 06, 10:17 PM I'm a happy camper. Both the Cowboys and Chiefs won today.
clwilcox33 Nov 23rd, 06, 11:36 PM I didn't get to watch the Chiefs unfortunately. It was showing on the new NFL network and my cable company doesn't carry it. I did however send my cable company a nasty letter tonight about that!!

It was a great game. LJ and the O-line put on a running game clinic.

Yea, and it's a Thursday night game to boot, two 10-1 teams playing for the NFC home field advantage throughout the playoffs! Well, as long as both teams take care of business on Thanksgiving, no way in hell Dallas will lose, Green Bay has a little stiffer competition with Detroit, but there's no reason they shouldn't win that game, they will be favored............

Chiefs lost to Indy 13-10

68rs406 Nov 19th, 07, 12:31 PM I'll be waiting for Romo to melt down in the playoffs....again. Hopefully against the Seahawks
Dayton68Z28 Nov 19th, 07, 02:43 PM Cowboys minus TO = no playoffs
thedugan Nov 19th, 07, 03:08 PM I did not feel that great after the Patriots game. I've lost all hope for this NFL season. It's the year of the Pats.
And I hate the Pats.

nah, not gonna happen GO COWBOYS~!~!~!
RobSS1113 Nov 19th, 07, 03:54 PM Thats Right .. " GO COWBOYS " ... Romo is a Good QB.. they need to slap the center for high snapping the balls , Most QB's would just run and fall on the ball .... Romo will try and make something positive out of a negative play.
Yeah Troy Aikman was a Damn good QB .. Romo is just starting off .. he's got a lot of game in him , and will only get better thru time .
I Cant wait for that Green Bay Game ... I hope the Cowboys Pack those Packee's .

They can't please everyone :) And...only the best team in NFL history. We know what they are doing is amazing but it does put a shadow over other teams who are having a great year. Colts,Cowboys, Bills, Green Bay, Steelers are all up there. Great teams and fun to watch.

DougP Nov 20th, 07, 04:59 AM Even as a Redskins fan, (yes I really hate the Cowboys), I have to give it to them. Romo is playing well, TO isn't running his mouth and he's catching TD passes, and the defense is sharp. At least this past week the Redskins played like they wanted to win the game -- although whoever was supposed to cover TO didn't show up on Sunday.
kencar69 Nov 20th, 07, 05:04 AM Do you really think the Cowboys played that well? If they are improving every week, they have a long way to go. I give the Cowboys credit for hanging in there, but it looked more like the Redskins, as they usually do, lost the game by beating themselves more than the Cowboys beat them.
tejasrs/ss Nov 20th, 07, 10:45 AM The defense I admit had a letdown this week and our backfield is suspect at times, but our offense is playing lights out for sure. Tank johnson will get more and more comfortable playing the 3-4 defense and will hopefully put more pressure on the quarterback, if the front guys can do that then you can get away with having sub par db's like we tend to have every once in a while. I still think we have the best team in the NFC!

Agreed, and I like the Cowboys. Take TO out of the last game, have the 'skins make a few more plays, Cowboys lose. I don't think they've been playing better every game. I will judge how well we are doing against the Packers.

yea well... you can say that about the Pats too though or any team doing good this time of year. Take away Brady from the Pats, Favre from the Packers, Manning from from either the Giants or the Colts and THEY will lose 9 times out of 10. Case in point...see what happened to the Panthers???

Maybe, but I said it was a combination of the 'skins doing better and TO coming out. I would hate to think anyone thought we were comparing TO to Brady. In any case, the argument is that I don't think we are playing better. I think we may have gotten a little lucky a couple of weeks. I want to see a solid, balanced game against a good team. Not a get luck game against an average team. Believe, I am rooting for us, I'm just not ready to believe the hype.
Ken Larsen Nov 20th, 07, 06:06 PM I like the cheer leaders!!!! can you guys in texas get them some more t.v. time??? go cowgirls!!!!

RobSS1113 Nov 21st, 07, 12:23 PM Cowboys / Thanksgiving .. thats a game ,thats a given EVERY SINGLE YEAR . How much more better does it get than that..? Or do you have to be a Cowboy fan to figure that one out
rsbecool Nov 21st, 07, 02:10 PM Hey Cowboys fan here. Bottom line Cowboy won against skins. I didn't think the Cowboys played as good as they have in the pasted few games. I think the coach is to passive. I hope they make Jason G. the coach for next year are they may lose him. What do you Cowboys fans think?

I think they need to throw ridiculous type money at Jason Garrett and also "guarantee" him that he is next in line for the H.C. job in a few years. Remember there has been allot of Offensive/Defensive Coordinators that are great at doing that but once they become head coaches they crash and burn....case in point our very own NORV TURNER and DAVE WANNSTEDT!!

True, but the possibility that Jason would be staying with the Cowboys and not going to another team gives him an advantage that Norv and Dave did not get. He knows the offensive and his QB. This team was built by Parcels. It a great time for Garrett to jump in as coach. I just don't like Wade Phillips as coach. The Packers game will be a good test for the Cowboys.
XLexusTech Nov 22nd, 07, 08:09 AM If they lose to the Jets Today they should shut down the franchise
rsbecool Nov 22nd, 07, 08:17 AM Cowboys should play good today.
parkbrau Nov 23rd, 07, 01:05 AM WOW!!! 10 and 1. Great game last night. Looking towards the GB game.
