Didnt see a section to ask this and since the Camaro is PT i figured here would be about as good a place as any.
I am looking for a sumped gas tank for a 68 but one that does not have a sump in the back, i would perfer the sump in the front.
can some of you ports up pictures of your custom tanks
Anyone recommend a shop for building a tank?

http://www.rickshotrodshop.com/ Give Rick a call - there is no one better. He can build what ever you need. His prices are fair and is quality is 2nd to none. Lots of big name builders use him.

If the sump is in the front and you get on the gas will it starve the pump?

the design i want to use involves tubing either -12an or -10an to be installed and welded into the tank which would draw from a baffled part of the tank in the rear with a pick-up, there should also be a trap door toward the rear(the trap door would greatly slow fuel surge toward the front of the tank upon hard stopping), the tubing would then exit the front side of the tank with a slight sump.
You could also just trap door the front part of the tank and use a regular sump feeding toward the front with the sump also facing toward the front of the tank with no tubing.
i want to use the first design.
will it work yes , is it as good as a rear sump... only as long as i dont run it to 99% empty as the pick-up wont pull as low as the full sump would.

I used a rock valley tank, they say they can custom make anything. Workmanship was excellent.
