Hey gang, I did a search but did not come up with the answer so here it goes: I'm all done with painting the subframe with POR-15 and It came out awsome but I'm not real crazy about the finish. There are some glossy spots and others that are flat (I used the semi-gloss). What should I paint over it with? I have some of POR's ty-coat but just need an idea if an epoxy spray paint will be a lasting finish. I just want it right, cuase I don't want to do it again (on this car).

It's very important to keep stirring the stuff as you found out. I overcoated with POR15 chassis coat. I'll admit I'm biased towards their products. They have other coatings which I feel are more durable than 'regular' epoxy coatings. They now have some paints in colors called Hardnose paints which look interesting.

The best way to top-coat POR-15 is before it sets up completly, I usally wait 4-5 hrs after painting POR-15 and then spray PPG DP-90 (semi-gloss black 2 part epoxy) over it. Since yours is already cured I would scuff the POR-15 with scotch brite and then use ty-coat and top-coat with PPG DP-90. DP-90 runs about $32.00 qt. and another $30.00 for activator.
