When installing new sail panels, does anyone have a good idea as to how to locate the holes for the interior lights that are in the deluxe interior. I don't have the one that came out of the car so I have nothing to use for a pattern. Also, should the holes be cut out before the headliner material is installed and the material run through to glue to the back or should the material be installed first and then cut the holes? Or does it make any difference? Thanks for the help. This site is great.:)

Ok Bob lets see if I can help you.On the sail panels if you have replacement 9 out of 10 timesthe clips on the back are not going to line up with you original holes.I install the head liner then the sail panels. You may have to place the sail panels were you what them and mark the back on then for the correct location of the holes. My new panels were carboard so I removed the cardboard stips that held the clips and lined them up the way they needed to be and regluded them back in place .It sounds time consumming but I believe if you do it one time right you dont have to do it again.Once you get the panels were you like them then you can cover them with the headliner cloth and measure for you hole for you coursety lights.Start of with a small hole to line it up reinstall the panel to make sure you in the right spot on both sides.Always leave more cloth than cardboard. You can use a razernife and take your time cutting the cardboard not the cloth. The cloth will fold in and around the whole when you instll the light.Than reinstall the sail panel hope this helps Fred.

Thanks Fred. Since I hadn't received any responses in a few days I tried measuring and then cut the holes on the uncovered sail panels. Got it pretty close and was able to make it work and then covered the panels with the material. However, your response pointed out another problem I am likely to encounter since I presumed the holes for the mounting clips would be in the correct location. I guess if they are not then I will relocate them per your suggestion. I'm missing some clips but hope to pick them up in the next day or so and will be able to get on with the installation. Again, thanks for the help.
