Does anyone know what the difference would be between running an Edelbrock Performer RPM Air-Gap intake on a 350 chevrolet compared to a Holley Street Dominator dual plane? I own a street dominator but found a good deal on an air-gap intake. If its just a 5hp difference, I will stick with the street dominator. Thanks!

I figure it is about that so I would stick with the old Strip Dom!

AND I have a new 300-36, in the box in my bedroom closet now for another junk301 motor!!

Most of the older designed (twenty, thirty years ago) dual planes had square corners ("to keep the fuel air from separating by adding turbulence" right out of an Edelbrock add) low risers (for hood clearance to sell more manifolds on more cars) and small ports (because that is what the factory was casting for good throttle response for mom's grocery getter). Once Edelbrock started looking at air flow they started changing things (actually Weiand's Team "G" single plane started cutting into their sales which prompted them to do the research). Holley (Colt Industries) and others followed to stay competitive in sales.

I wouldn't trade any manifold made in the past eight or so years out unless I saw dyno evidence to the contrary. That money for a new manifold will buy a lot of Nitrous which is much more gratifying on the street than a fractional percentage of your current horse power would be (figuring 5+/- horses out of about 300).

Dave's right b/c Weiand has recently reworked the 300-36 intake over and modernized it to the tune of what I call very little hp increase at all, OVERALL!!

I want to say Doug posted about them tweeking some of their square pattern intakes to stay current but I may be off here on his name??

Take advertising hype outta this and there is just so much you can do to an intake.............

And some of the old one's like the Victor Jr. were done pretty darn good back then as was the old 300-36 and the Z-28 intake too, imho..
