my 91 camaro rs with a 305 tbi is running real rich and popping out the exhaust, from reading here it sounds like maybe timing, can anybody help? mike

you need to check for codes. I'll bet it's got a sensor gone wacko and it's in "limp home" mode.

i just put in a new o2 sensor, so i guess i will take your advice and check the codes, thanks alot. mike

ok i checked the codes, my service engine light is flashing once, then two real fast flashes, does anybody know what this means? i dont have a book. mike

Mike.......When the light flashes once and then two quick flashes, that is a normal sequence that shows your ECM is working properly. It will flash this sequence three times followed by any trouble codes then close with the same sequence of flashes. Check your timing with a timing light......I believe it should be around 14 deg BTDC. Disconnect the spark advance plug near or above the AC unit before you check the timing and don't forget to reconnect it afterwards.

camaro dave, probley not the right way but i timed her by ear and i have gotten rid of alot of the popping out the exhaust, for a 305 she runs strong...
