Where have you guys mounted your fire extinguisher? I would like to keep it in the passenger compartment for quicker access, but there doesn't seem to be much room with my console to put it on the tranny hump. Should I put it on the side (encroaching on the passengers leg room)? If I can't figure out a place I'll put it in the trunk but would like to avoid that. Pictures of good places would help, too. Thanks!

Size of extinguisher will determine placement. The pass side of trans hump is the best place, easy to retrieve.
Another place would be in front of the pass seat. Pull seat forward, or halfway forward, for those short people, and place extinguisher perpendicular to the door, the lever of ext should be at door. This way, its under the legs and not at the side.
Another place would be driver side rear seat side panel. Any rear seat passengers? Or if rollbar is installed, attach to driver side main loop behind the driver street.

I haven't yet installed one, but thought about spanning a piece of aluminum angle iron across the passenger seat rear mounting bolts and attaching the extinguisher to it. I guess it could also span across the front bolts and tuck under the seat. I don't want to punch any holes in my sheet metal or seat backs.

I don't have a rollbar, but occasionally the kids do ride in the back. Those are some great ideas that I hadn't thought of. Thanks. What do you think of putting it in between the speakers in the rear window?

I would think one would mount the extinguisher within one's reach, rather than getting out of the car and going back in to get it.
You want to exit the car with bottle in hand at the ready - time is valuable, especially if one's life is at stake. But, I might be taking the idea to an extreme.

Under no circumstances do you ever want to mount something like this back there. In an accident, it'll kill you or render you a loved one a vegetable for life, even if it's 'bolted' down!

Why not install a remote-mounted extunguisher with nozzels in the engine compartment? I thought I've seen them somewhere. Of course, the truck is going to get crowded with the extunguisher, compressor/tank for the air suspension, nitrous bottle and subwoofer...
