: Lowered front end

I am looking to lower the front of a 68 Camaro.

Will run a Scott's HotRod IFS front end (which is 1" narrower than standard Camaro sub frame)

Plan to run either 16" or 17" Budnik wheels (probably 7" or 8" wide).

I want the front fender lowered "over" the tire, such that the top of the rim will be hidden behind the bottom of the fender.

My question is if I do this with the 1" narrower IFS and the 7" rim (probably 235 tires), will I still get enough clearance to get a reasonable (and legal) steering / turning ability or will it rub ??

Not sure if anyone has done this before, I have seen plenty of cars this low, but all motionless and suspect they may be running airbags which i don't want to do, I want coilovers.

Any advice greatly appreciated

ah, the beaner look... Will it ever die? Anyway, I don't think your going to be able to do this and still retain good turning ability. Also, I could be wrong but even with drop spindles, dropped body bushings, and having your coil-overs set to its lowest point can you get this to work and still have ride quality or handling capabilities...

Then again I am biased since I really don't understand the appeal to dragging your underbody on the road or not being able to see your new shiny rims. That being said, I'm glad we live in a country where people can choose to do as they please:).

Take no offense to my remarks please, just blowing off a little steam.

On second thought if you do all of the above and get narrowed control arms, you may be able to accomplish your goal.

Beaner look in southern california was 11" Gold Spoke Daytons sticking out about 3" wider than the fenders! hehe at least when I was growing up, maybe its changed.

Ha, yes the beaner has evolved to an advanced enough form to use hydraulics :D
