I have a 67 with manual steering and drum brakes. I would like to upgrade to PS and power discs. My current subframe needs a COMPLETE overhaul too. Would I be better off looking for a mid to late 70's subframe with the power options I'm after to roll under or will it not be compatible with the 67 body ?? NOTHING is original on here now, so I'm not worried about non-original, correct, parts just a better sub to start with and rebuild.

From my understanding the second gen camaro frames will not work on a first gen camaro. They changed the steering to the other side of the k-member in the second gens. Nova frames from the early 70's will work, not sure about which years but it has been discussed on the site before.

I have a set of drum spindles with speed tech adaptors for 13" c5 brakes, I cleaned and repainted dark grey. Also have new reman 86 IROC steering gear with good p/s pump. I took all off of mine for AFX spindles and a Lee Manufacturing gear. I will sell all if you are interested

Yup, did a search on here, other sites and car-part .com. Not worth the hassle. I guess I'll keep an eye out for a first gen Camaro or 70-73 Nova with disc and PS.
Thanks

There is a guy that was written up in onna the mags several years ago from Independence, MO that did a Second Gen. S/F install in a First Gen. car and it is a sweet conversion, imho!!

I would just put both with the spindle spuds touching, side-by-side and mocked up at the same height and then take a smoke-wrench, angle grinder and a good welder and start making the Second Gen. S/F fit like the original one and go!!

And you gain front steer, a better front roll center height and the capability to mount later, Big Car, 12" spindles, rotors and such!!
