I have a 67 RS with Vantage air. It looks factory but was not a factory AC car. I live in Florida where it is always warm. Even on nice days the car feels hot because the ac vents pump out warm air even with the ac shut off and the heater control to the left. (Very soft but enough to make the car warm)

I need to mention that the AC is not cooling right now. Looks like I also have a freeon leak. But even when it was cooling, when I turned off the AC I could feel warm air coming out.

I removed the glove box and can see the cables that connect to the heater box. I can see them move when I move the heater controls. I did not want to try to adjust these cables until someone said that’s what I should do.

Any help stopping the warm air flow?

Sorry about this. I swear I looked for an hour or more using several key words. I could not find my answer so I posted. As soon as posted. Went to my post to check it and at the bottom of the page “ what do ya know” the answer to my question from Randy S..

Heater control valve installation- Installing the heater control valve in the incorrect hose will allow water to collect in the unit. The heater control is a directional valve; make sure the water flow is with the direction of the arrow. As the engine heats up that water transfers the heat to the coil, thus overpowering the a/c coil. A leaking or faulty valve will have a more pronounced affect on the unit’s cooling ability. Installing the valve improperly (such as having the flow reversed) will also allow water to flow through, thus inhibiting cooling. Check for heat transfer by disconnecting hoses from the system completely. By running down the road with the hoses looped backed through the motor, you eliminate the possibility of heat transfer to the unit. Move or replace the valve if necessary. I would check you valve and see if the valve is closed in the off positon. That valve in the engine compartment should not be letting water flow through the system in the off position. check to see if toy have enough vacume.
