On 2-23-77 my dad ordered a 1977 Z/28. He took posession on 5-20-77. The car was black on black with the orange and red stripes. The only options on the car were tinted glass, console, posi rear, AM radio and HD radiator. It had the LM1 350 and M-21 close ratio 4 speed. The VIN of the car is 1Q87L7L612296. The car was sold around 1980 to an airman who was stationed at Offutt Air Force Base in Omaha NE. The gentleman was from Texas. Any help in locating this car is GREATLY appreciated.

Here is a 78 in the same color combo. Good luck finding it!
Maybe the local police department can help?

Great looking car!. I really hope I can find it. I can find a black 77 Z/28 but it would be nice to bring dads car back home especially since I have alot of the original paperwork from when it was ordered and picked up. The funny part is he originally had white on the order sheet but it is scribbled out and black is written above it. It was a very low option car but it was all he could afford at the time. They traded a 73 Charger in on it, VIN WL21G3G211672. Neat car, black on black with the orange and red strobe stripe on the side.

What do you mean "red strobe stripe"
This is a side shot of a 77.

This is an 80-81. The 79 was similar.

I apologize for not being clear when I typed that. The Charger had the stripe on the side. I've only seen one other Charger like it and that was on Ebay recently. I have found some other black 77 Z's lately but I'd prefer to have dads.

Cool. Just wanted to make sure we were talking 77!
