I am looking to purchase a 69 convertible. I am 6'5'' and lacked leg room in the test drive. Is it possible to unbolt the seats from the floor and move them back an i nch or 2. There will probably never be anyone in the back seat to affect their leg room.
Please help
Jim

If the link did not come thru go to Ebay and do a search for seat extenders. $40.00 just did look. Easy install and your legs will thank you.

Seat extenders were a factory (or dealer installed?) option as well. They are easy to make.

Never was a Chev part for that, had to be dealer installed but Ive never seen a GM part that the dealer would put in. Dealer might fab them up like we all do. Alot of us need that extra setback of the seat. :)

There are 2 sets bolt holes for the seats. When I put the seats back in my convertible, I used the ones that put the seats back about 1-1/2". I ASSumed this was in all models......am I wrong?

I think the later model 69's had the 2 sets of mounting bolts because my 10D only has one. My other 69's have both and are later builds in the year. The seat extenders work great. The guy on ebay does sell top quality stuff. I've been dealing with him for years now. I also installed them in the passenger side. Your passenger will appreciate it too.

I made mine out of scrape metal I had laying around. Makes a world of difference. Just use Clicks design works great and it is free.:)

I recently purchased these from the guy on ebay for my 67 & 69. He cut me a deal since buying for 2 cars. I love them. Can't say enough good things about them. It's like driving a new car(s), and I've been driving first gen Camaros for 2 decades. Search for Seat Extenders on ebay motors. The guy runs auctions all the time, one after another. Great product, you will love them.
They sound expensive until you realize the the steel runners have been cut, bent, trimmed, drilled, nuts welded to the bottom, and painted. Also comes with hardware. All the measuring has been done for you. Sure you could do this yourself, but if your like me you have tons of other issues to focus on.
Good luck.
