I am new to this site.

I had a '89 Camaro, sold it to get a '85 Vette. (Had no idea of all of the trouble I was buying into.)
Got rid of the vette.
Looking at getting another f-body.

Is it possible to get the hardtop converted to t-tops on a 1982 Camaro?

I have heard that this would weaken the integrity of the roof and body.
Also, if anyone has had this done, did you have a problem with the aftermarket tops leaking?

:)

it can be done but i would find a t top car, the aftermarket t-tops are not cheap and if not done right they will leak

Even factory T-Top cars are inherently weak. If I jack the corner up on my 83 T-Top you can see the doors go out of alignment. It rattles a bunch too, although I don't know if that's only a problem related to T-Tops or all third gen F Bodies. But it still handles like a dream. I would imagine that the factory cars are strategically braced be cause of the lack of roof support. I would find a factory T-Top car.

How expensive are we talking here?

Are there any places in or around the Houston area that anyone can point me towards?
