Yes, I finally got my timing PERFECT... No backfires at all! So instead of mounting the radiator as I should, I tied a wire to hold it in place and took it around the block. So the wire snapped, the crappy flex fan took out a nice chunk of the radiator, and I've learned a valuable lesson in patience.

So I'm looking to replace my setup... I'm searched the forums, and the Derale 17k series has come up numerous times... 17" a good size for my 79? I came across two good sites for alum radiators, Ron Davis and McCulloch fabricating. I'll contact them and see what they have for me, I'll need a shroud too. Probably an overflow tank to complete the setup, considering I'm just using a cheap pep boys generic tank. If a new radiator is 170 new including tax, I might as well spend a little more and upgrade now while I have the opportunity. I need to get my stock gauges working anyway, I don't feel comfortable driving more than a ride around the block without a temp gauge.

Mine is CCW. I think yours is the same.

OK prelude! Don't leave us hanging over at the 'engine' thread! Why was it running bad?! If you did something dumb and you don't want to fess-up just say you had a brain-fart.

hey thats a nice shroud! Where'd you come across that? I wasn't sure if it was CW or CCW, if its from the drivers POV or the mechanics POV...

It came from Norwood. It's original.:) Aren't pictures great! No confusion. Just like saying 'port' and 'starboard'.

I have the 17" derale and love it. I wondered about it too. I thought it would be too loud. It ended up being very quiet and cools like a mother!

Pics in my other post. http://www.camaros.net/forums/showthread.php?t=94997

Hey Fred, just responded on the other post... The timing was WAY off, I don't even know how it was running prior to it! Also, I've found some guy on craigslist who is good enough to give me his son's old radiator and fan from his 79 T/A, which will do until I can get a new setup. He's giving it to me for free! I'm gonna pick up that derale fan anyway.

OK, thanks.
Good luck too on that radiator. They're different you know. Wider and lower and sit on a tray not bolted to the bulkhead.
Edit; 03:30 last night. I was trying to get back to sleep. Thought about what I wrote in this post. Wrong! I was thinking you has a 1st gen. Oops. Sorry.
