Came across this 69 Pace car today, vin is 12467N6179xx, any comments on the tag?
Left side of pic is kinda blurry, build is 03D

From that picture it looks like a fake tag.
I don't like the rivet either.

here's 2 more pics, seem to have a "depth of field" problem, but one of them is sharp on the left, angle of pic is awful trying to see around the booster.

couple more pics...

Car looks good (other than a serious hack job on the floorboards) but has 10 bolt with mono perches, could not see the exhaust hanger from under the car with the tire on, rear brake line is one peice, no prop valve.

Owner was vague about deck stamp, seemed more than willing to simply accept it as NOM than have me pull the alternator and look, did say heads correct casting but dated after the car was built.

I think it was originally a white RS vert, but not sure if it was an SS or a pacer.

It looks pretty.
I would say - Not an SS. Not a IPC. Based on your review. (but I am not there)
If the price is right - it would be fun - or, drop in a big block...make it more fun. :)

then just assume it is a real 69 Camaro convert, nothing else ...

gotta love the 67 ONLY GM sticker ...

does it have the matching FORD "Caution Fan" sticker as well ?

I vote for fake as well. Though a straight on pic would help.

On the firewall next to the trans dipstick, is this the blower high speed relay for A/C not there? Just for my education.

Nice engine compartment.

Not an A/C car, relay is for cowl hood.

A tip for taking a pic of a trim tag on a vehicle:

Rest the camera right on top of the brake booster. It will be at a good distance from the tag, straight on, and will keep the camera stable

Personally, I think that puts the camera too close and distorts the picture.
I shoot from a little farther away and just crop the pic. :)

Psstt.... Kurt.... The last two trim tag pics Ive sent you were done that way and were clear :)

If you use the flower (closeup) icon on your cam, it should work just fine.

Of course, could depend on the camera.

actually you can get a good pic by distancing the camera from the tag 2 feet or so and zooming in a lil....

Thanks, JimM for the education.

That GM sticker looks to be the correct Blue color for 68~69.
The 67 sticker was Turquoise ...

With questionable pedigree and floor pans not done well, I guess I would not be interested. ;) but a nice car for someone.

That sticker was never used on Camaros in 68 or 69.

Sorry Kurt - I always had thought the 'Mark of Excellence' sticker was a GMAD v.s. Fisher thingy ...
Funny, they were used on Full Size.

Yes, I have pulled quite a few off the passenger cars from 69.
The color is different. They were stamped, thin metal plates.
Not decals like they sell now.
