Has anyone used a dashpad from Al Knoch for First Gen camaro's? I see Rick's is selling these now. I need to replace my '68 Dashpad. The question is Urethane vs. Vinyl. I hear the Vinyl Al Knoch pads fit very nice? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

I hope they are better then the deluxe door panels they have made for years.

I bought one form my '68 a few years ago. It was un-useable as it didn't have any mounting hardware attached to it!! I sent it back and what do you know...a few days later...Al Knoch himself calls my house. He wanted to know why I sent the dash pad back, what he could do to improve it, how it compared to others I had looked it, etc etc. He seemed very interested in what I had to say. What he did with that info I have no idea.

I did the dash pad thing and beleive me...the way to go is to get a used one off E bay and send it to Just Dashes in California. Hands down it is the nicest part I have ever put on my car. It was absoluelty, 100% perfect. I have never heard of anyone having any issues with the parts that Just Dashes restores what-so-ever...

i just received an Al knock vinyl dashpad from ricks this past wknd.after the second time i sent it back. the first was warped.this one is not warped but defective on the top near the vin #.i called ricks today and they went through all there dashpads and out of 4, one is acceptable. three or four were also defective like mine.

its just frustrating that these companies put this crap out!! wheres the quality control? do they think we are just going to buy it and accept crap?DONT! ACCEPT IT! AND ALWAYS SEND IT BACK! this will send a msg to the manufaturer.

ricks has been the best company to deal with.......they will send me another one after going through all the 68 vinyl skinned ones. then they are sending the four defective ones BACK TO AL KNOCK!

i have done my part today!!!! hopefully they will get the msg.....

Wow, I am glad I posted this question. I will not be buying an Al Knoch dash pad. Does anyone have a current price for Just Dashes to redo an original? I may go that route if I don't have rob a bank to do it.

About $450 with shipping to CT.
Worth every penny.

There was a post several months back that Just Dashes was no longer doing 69 Camaro dashes. Could have just been some BS but just an FYI.
