I keep reading referances to a vin# data base. Is this part of CRG or somthing else? Can any info on these cars be gotten? I have 3 69s that i would like to know more about (besides decodeable)like origin ect.
With whom would you "register" the vins with?
Thanks in advance.

Brian,
There are a few guys out there that have compiled databases for the various years. The CRG has an "official" database but no one (for privacy reasons) has access to it.
If you'll post the numbers (VIN and Trim Tag), we can decypher it for you.

Send a private message to "Kurt S" with your info. You can find his profile by using the search function. GM kept no data other than for Canadian cars.

The info in the CRG database, only consists of info supplied by owners of the cars, or obtained from places like Ebay (a small portion), or from personal observations of cars over the years. If the previous owners had documentation such as POPs window stickers, broadcast sheets, that info is included as well, but of course if you bought a car with those documents then you already know alot more about your cars than most. If your cars were previously submitted to the CRG, then the most new info you will get is possibly the name of a previous owner.
That said, if your car was listed and the listed owner is not who you bought it from, I would expect that someone in the CRG would contact the listed owner with your contact info, and let them decide if they wanted to contact you about the car, you won't get the previous owners name directly.
