Mark C. I read your reply about 69 RS fender pinstriping and wondered if it applied to RS/Z28 also. Mine was built 3/69 and at the time I had it painted no one I could find knew anything about the stripes. I did put them on and hope I did not screw up. Also, was there a difference between the hood stripes put on at Norwood and LA. I have seen some that do not hit the Camaro emblem on the front valance and others that touch it. In both cases the owners say theirs is correct and that they were following what appeared to be the original stripes. I hope your help will be appricated

The fender striping was automatically deleted from Z-21 Style Trim or Z-22 RS when either of these options were ordered along with Z-28; the only added paint on the side of a Z-28 was a blacked-out lower rocker when Z-21 (Style Trim) was ordered, and that was deleted on several dark colors.

Both plants used the same stencils for the Z-28 hood and deck lid stripes; the outboard edge of the hood stripe that extended onto the driver's side of the header panel cleared the "C" in the "Camaro" emblem by about 1/4"-3/8" - the emblem did not overlap the stripe.
