Any help? madmax87 Dec 6th, 06, 10:40 AM Are we talking about a 1st gen Camaro? Or newer? I know that some of the newer cars have the cabin filter that needs to be replaced or you'll get that smell. airdoc Dec 6th, 06, 12:18 PM Thanks, it is a 98 z28 indeed, now I judt need to know how to replace those cabin filters! any clue anyone? madmax87 Dec 6th, 06, 12:43 PM Sorry, but I bet one of the Chiltons manuals at AutoZone or Checker would probably have it in there. Did you already look in your manual. If not, I'm sure someone will chime in with instructions. fatblock Dec 6th, 06, 04:06 PM Just made maintenance to AC, a weird smell comes out the first 10-15 secs, then dissapear, it smells like humidity or mold... Any help? That smell is mold on the evap core.GM sells coil coating with instructions.Kinda expensive and has questionable results.I have used it tho.Make sure your evap case is free of debris also. The duck flap on the engine side of the firewall may have debris in it and not allowing a complete drain. You can also try letting off an ozone bomb by Wynns with the blower on high and the ac in recirc mode. This is cheap just read the instructions once again. And for the big buck fix, wire in an afterblow module sold by GM that will run your blower after shut down and dry the damp evap core.$700.:( z10kl Dec 6th, 06, 08:04 PM Crank er up turn ac on and spray Lysol in the cowl area.I had the same problem with a rarely driven 91 Z and I was told to do that by an AC man. took care of it. airdoc Dec 7th, 06, 08:42 AM Thanks everyone! I heard that spraying lysol under the dash near the blower in recirc mode, but it doesn't have recirc mode, lol, so in th cowl will be... take care |
