I'm clueless when it comes to wiring(more into body/motor) and embarrassed to admit I cant even put in a stereo . It has a wiring harness but the only radio wire I have is the red and I know I can get it to work off the red but I'm not sure how to connect it without chopping the whole thing up. So please any help as to this is greatly apprreciated.

This is an Aftermarket Stereo?
They usually have a separate "memory" feed and "power" feed. If you look at the fusebox, there are some auxilliary spade connectors. Connect the memory wire to the one labelled "BAT" and the power wire to the one labelled IGN.

ALL aftermarket car stereos have a 'yellow' memory wire and jim is correct about the install to the fuse box.

Don't be a chopper! If there are wires that you don't use, neatly bundle them ... Take the time you make sure all of your connections are good ... Make sure you route your wires so that they out of the way of things like moving feet and moving pedals ... Note that your have + and - labels on speaker wires ... Your speaker will have have + and - or big and small spade connectors ... make sure you orient connections + to + and - to - ... Use recommended fuse sizes and no bare wires ...
Bad electrical work = blown fuses or fire ...
