So i've been working on my interior lately. And going through catalogs looking for stuff i'm missing or need to replace. And i've seen these windlace caps that I don't have. Can someone post a pic of one installed? That would be cool. Thanks!

Don't have a pic for ya but you should have them, unless they were replaced with a cheaper aftermarket style that had the cap built into the windlace...... to be correct the cap fits into the top of the wind lace and is held in by a screw with the u jamb seal...hope it helps

I know what you mean....my 67 has 1 piece windlace in it too and they are junk. I was looking at my Rick's catalog and they list the 67 as 2 piece. Like toyboy said, they just slip together near the top and the angle piece is secured by the u-jamb screw. If mine were good, I would just leave them, as the extra joint seem may be a source of snags on clothing. I haven't made a firm decision weather to go original or use the 1 piece again...

Ya I have the 1 piece windlace. I guess i'll take my chances with the repop ones Classic sells. Thanks for the info!
A pic would still be nice though.

Here is a picture of the reproduction cap. You can barely see my finger where I've pulled down the quarter window felt to show the screw that holds it on.

The reproduction windlace cap is made by Trimparts and I give it a 9.5 on a scale of 10. One of the few parts that I have no complaints about.
This picture shows the lower windlace which is NOT reproduced.

The advertised lower windlace reproductions are actually the same material as the convertible header bow windlace -not even close.
I don't see where this combination would be prone to catching clothes unless you have some very large and clumsy people frequenting your back seat.
I have an extra set of lower windlaces and caps if anyone is interested.

I just found a picture that gives a good overall of the windlace: http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e100/67Firebird/WindlaceandPanels.jpg

Nice pics of the windlace, hammered, and your assessment of the parts !! Thanks. Is the one piece repro a better match to original and do you think it could be cut to the 2 piece length and have the cap mate to it correctly ??

PMs answered. Thanks MD88, but I can't comment on the one piece repros because I've never seen them. However, I've wondered about doing the same thing you have.
BTW, the door panel and rear quarter vinyl is all repro, but dyed a non-stock color.
