im redoing my rear end and installed slide a link traction bars.
my 69 camaro has staggered lower shock mounts and I want to install lower shocks inboard the springs.
passenger lower shockmount will not install other that to the rear as the drivers side. So both lower shock mounts are facing to the rear.
will the comp engineering uppershock mount crossmember work for this?
or will I need to fab a whole new upper shockmount bracket?

You turn those kinda times, with that kinda power,,, and you're asking us? Mer mortals?!

I heard that Hotrod Magazine has a cure for the outboard shock mount problem but haven't searched their database. Oh, nice looking setup!

Here are a few pictures of the CE rear shock mount. It will do what you want BUT you will have to cut holes in the trunk floor for the shocks to pass through and if you have lowered the car you will need to find a pair of shocks to fit as the stock length is too long and will bottom out with just alittle suspension travel. I ran the demensions through Ranchos (RS9000's) catalog and found a pair that fit perfectly and they work great.

Those are adjustable. Got any part numbers? Most of us have similar setups. I've been running these shocks for 37 years but I'm open to changes.:p And the Lakewoods are going away for new CEs.

Fred,
I went with RANCHO RS 9000's for 2 reasons. 1. No body else made an affordable (custom made QA1's at $300.00 ea is not affordable on my budget)shock short enough with the right ends. 2. Spoke with a few from this site and the tech's at Calvert Racing and they us RS9000's on all of their set-up's.
I like them alot and they do make a difference on the street even if you make 1 click adjustments.
My Part number is RS99272, and I got them for $89.00 ea from Summit.

Super! Thanks for the scoop. I'm making lots of changes over the winter and will keep those numbers handy. Thanks again!

OK, Summit lists them for Ford 'big' pickups. They come with a boot too. Right ones?

Dawg, or...

I'm considering getting a set of slide-a-links...

These things will install in the "normal 68-69 manner" right?
As in shocks outside of springs, 1 ahead the other behind?

Also, how the heck did you change the eye bushings?
The outer sleeve on mine may as well be part of the spring it's in there so good!
