need some help which way does the resistor go on top of the heater box on a 69 had mine apart so long I forgot does the single prong go to the left or
right looking at it for the front or does it make a difference Thanks

I don't think it matters as long as it fits into the hole and the flexible wire harness can plug into it.

However, do a dry run of the harness to the resistor block and see how the connector falls. This would determine the direction of resistor block install.

Tony, on my 67 and 68.... the single prong is towards the steering wheel.

What is that resistor for anyway? is it nessecary?

yes it is necessary it is what gives you the different blower motor speeds, the current passes through different resistance to lower the current to the blower motor for low and med speed
