I saw an article once about how to redo the silver trim on dash bezels, etc... Anyone remember that article or have any ideas that would help?

Thanks

I use silver paint pens. I used Testors and Elmers brands. Both work great.

There was a guy in Columbus OH who applied chrome foil to the edges. Henry Estheimer....He did a great job on mine. I have not talked to him for 3 years or so. Last I heard, he was ill, so I don't know if he still does them

You can buy dry transfer silver or silver leaf and do them... there is also a scale model product that looks very good... can't remember the name off hand though.

I sent the dash to my 69 out for restoration. They did the chrome trim and then painted the dash bezel. Looks factory new. Some "chrome" paints come very close if you can apply it carefully.

I've used the metal foils used by scale modelers for years with excellent results.

I used the bare-metal product on an Impala SS dash insert and it turned out really good. Takes some patience and practice but looks better than the paint, which I have also done.http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/10/web/646000-646999/646779_87.jpg
