I want to put a m-21 or 22 muncie trans. in my 67 but I'm not sure about a couple of things. Will any production muncie between 1963-1974 fit directly into a 67 camaro (with the exception of linkage and crossmember)? A friend of mine has a m-21 out of a 66 vette that he will sell me ($500.). He has never used the trans. before and isn't positive on its condition. I plan to check the casting numbers and inspect the gears before I purchase. I then plan to have a shop go through it to make sure everything is serviceable.

The M-20, -21 and -22 are all the same case size and length.

Shifter and linkage will vary over the years and between cars tho..
