Subject says it all.... I found a pair of 80% quarters (new) for sale locally without the marker light holes cut in them. To me this says "reproduction". I'm thinking it's another case of repro being sold as NOS.

That's all I needed to know. All NOS I've ever seen are 100% as well.

On GM, at that time, they were 100% that is for sure. But just as a stupid side note, not all companies do that. Believe it or not, I am not making this up, I installed a "Half quarter" from BMW once! No kidding, I forget the model, a 325I I think, anyway, about a 1995 model. The insurance company wrote this thing up for a "slice" quarter panel over the wheel well verticially! NO KIDDING, I thought they were nuts, sure enough the part came in and it was an OEM BMW NEW quarter cut off vertically over the wheel well!!!! It was cut before the E coat was applied with what looked like a plasma cutter. Is that crazy or what?

Yes.... :)

It's just that I saw a Craigs List for several 80% quarters at $35 to $50 a piece and they were called NORS (new old replacement stock). They didn't have marker light holes in them and they're not e-coated either, so I knew the guy was just throwing that term in there. I just wondered if they ever came that way over the counter.... without the holes I mean.

I bought a pair of coupe panels for my '68 convert in about 1982, when I worked at the GM store. I am certain the marker were cut out.
