I am doing a complete conversion of a standard '67 to an ss Clone. New front quarters on driversz side and was able to keep (fix) the passengers side.
Now to the hood. I have a new hood to replace the standard hood. fit is ok on the front but the back is too hight so I have elongated the hinge mounting holes for the body side but to no avail. cant seem to get the hood to come down to the fender level. Any suggestions?????

Had similiar prob with my car. The cowl was to high above the hood. Looked horrid. So I resituated the screws to pull the cowl down farther and loosened the hood slightly to be able to raise it a hair and tightened it all back down and it works like a champ. Maybe your hinge springs are to long? ?

Don't think that was or is my problem. Any other thoughts out there?

I would re-adjust the hood following the sticky by MartinSR. When my body shop adjust the front sheet metal, they told me my hood hinges were worn out and needed replacing because they wouldn't bring the back of the hood flush with the fenders. I took their word for it but never replaced the hinges. I stumbled on MartinSR panel alignment post a few years back, so I decided to give it a try. I was amazed because the hood was reajusted and sitting perfectly level after 5 minutes of work. Give it a try, I bet that's all it is. Here's the link:
