I need some additional eyes to give an opinion. I purchased an engine from Heartland Engine Builders to replace the engine in a 69 Corvette I own. I was shipped engine block number 3932386, which is the correct block number for the application. The engine was poorly built and quickly went down. After a long negotiation, I agreed to send the engine back and have them rebuild it. After many months of waiting I was finally sent this current engine with the number pictured above.

It is clear to me that the block number on this engine is 3932388. Am I wrong or has the "8" been changed to look like a "6"? I believe they actually sent me an entirely different engine made to look like the first.

Any input or direction is greatly appreciated. Thanks - Kevin

Looks like a switch-eroo to me. I always stamp or scribe my parts in un-obvious places and photograph them before handing them off to anyone. This happens more than you think.

Doesnt look like that last digit started out as a "6" to me.

Beware of Heartland Engine Builders in Indianapolis, Indiana. They list many engines on ebay and state on their website that they do all the right things. In my dealings with them, they didn't do anything they represented and on top of it sent me an engine with an altered block number.

I think I'm in for a long fight.
