Seller says "has original tranny" 3851325 casting on the trans would not be the original trans plus other things to numerous to waste time mentioning.
Speedo cable isnt hooked up, just lying there in the pic. Doesnt look rotisserie restored to me judging by the pics of the underside and steering components.

Tag looks good.

Why all the rust?

...I was thinking the same thing. After only two years, ...it already looks that rough? ...

Why all the rust?If it has been outside in PA for 2 years, I could understand the surface rust. Certainly is alot of humidity.

Why would somebody DA the gas tank?

Needs to be smacked upside the head for putting the rear stripes on like that.

Any other 2D cars out there with the vin derivative on the pad? Nov 19 seems pretty early for a 2D car.

What happened to the custom interior? Like Jonesy said, too much to mention, and some serious questions would need to be answered.

Hi

Looks like the speedo cable is not connected to the tranny :)

Look at the general condition of the tie rod he has pictured, it is full of grease. The coil spring has the paint chipped in such a way that it looks like the front end totally bottomed out at least once (the white ring of chips where the spring rings collided). Just look at the general condition of the A arm and spindle. If this was completely restored 2 years ago, it wasn't a very good job. I would believe the back half of the car was totally restored, but sorry the front end wasn't.

I will say that the tag is real, so the guy isn't a total scammer. Just trying to pump out a few extra $$'s.

Too bad this guy wasn't more honest, or just let the pictures speak for themselves.

Wrong mastercylinder as well. The exhaust manifolds do not have smog holes. I thought that the vin should have been by the oil filter as well.

That is a Feb. VIN, but the DZ stamp is November.

What is funny is that my 02D X33 is N613xxx and the non-matching DZ is V1I19DZ just like his.:clonk: Definitely not a DZ. He could afford a trim tag, but not the correct bumper guards?

The characters on the engine pad look to far apart . 02D on the trim tag and Nov 19 don't work at all !! my car is 11d and my block is 1I19. The seller probably didn't do very well in spelling bee's either.

My guess is that trim tag is original to the car. This guy seems lazy and he wouldn't go through all that work to get the tag looking like that.

He probably found it minus engine, trans, rear, etc. and fudged from there.

Stripes should stop before the rear glass and go to the bottom of the spoiler. There are many incorrect items on this car, too many to mention. It's a nice used car. I gotta look and see if that " Jerry McNash " guy might be a distant relative!

I have a car with the exact same day DZ stamp as the auction car, in my data base, it is 58,000 + cars behind this cars vin, guess it sat around in the repair room for a bit. LMAO!!!

That is what dealers do. Buy as cheap as they can and mark it up atleast 10K.

Maybe its me, but I think the engine stamps look suspect? I see a few things that are weird...

I say the tag does not belong to this car. Judging by the rivets the tag has been of the car or???

The tag is real and it fits the timeframe of the VIN just right. Engine is not original to the car.

So the question is only the block the fake part? Or is the tag and VIN transplanted? Too many wrong things for a rotisserie restoration. The basic car has the wrong grille, paint, bumper guards, shifter. Just a poor thrown together mess. It is interesting how deep the 1's are on the block VIN stamp.

My guess Block is definetly fake The numbers look Real Funny , almost to the point of looking like they are raised ( someone trying to get to perfect )

The stripes on my car are further apart then his, which ones are correct? I bought mine this way so I don't know if mine are right or not either. My stripes basically line up with the outside of the rear window.

Hopefully the link works, I haven't had much luck linking to my album on photobucket.

Yours look to be correct. Factory installed spoiler wouldn't have the trunk lip painted white but thats a minor thing and very common on repaints or dealer installed spoilers. Nice looking car.

Yeah, I know. :) That's why I did mine this way. Of course I'm not representing mine as something it's not. Mine might be on the market when I'm dead. If it is, I'm going to haunt my son.

My thoughts:

Trim tag / Vin = Real and original to the car.

Engine = restamp or non original

Restoration = Not as described in auction.

Didn't mean to bring this post to the front again, but did anybody notice his rosewood dash is only the glove box and the ash tray.
