This may sound like an off the wall question, but I need to know. Is there any difference in a 350 out of a 74 Olds and Chevrolet. I've been told by a couple people that there is whole scale differences. Any truth to this? I was going to pickup this Olds engine and rebuild for my 69 Camaro. Will it work or am I asking for trouble? Thanks!

There are a lot of differences.
Check this out, it's a buildup but you can see a good pic of what one looks like.

Reads like only Olds stuff will work on the engine. I thought GM 350 was GM 350, boy was I wrong. Sounds like it may be a good engine but not interchangable with GM 350 parts. Does that sum it up?

Tim, that's my understanding of it. It probably can't even use a Chevy Trans- it will have a Buick-Olds-Pontiac bolt pattern.

Thanks, guess that is why he is giving it away.
