Hi all! I am trying to get an idea on the average cost to replace a quarter panel on a 69 camaro. I would love to hear from members about their experiences. I currently have a 69 Camaro SS-350 that has been media blasted and is currently a rolling shell. It has no major collision damage and just has all the typical rust problems of these cars (dash under window, pin holes in the floor boards near the toe boards, wheel wells and pin holes in the trunk)I am interested in everyones opinion. should I replace the entire quarters or so I use patch panels from year one, classic etc. The rust only goes about 3 inches up from the lip on the wheel wells but the wheel wells are completly trashed. Otherwise the quarters are fine.
Thanks !

I wouldn't go with full quarters. It's nice to be able to retain the original door jambs and sail panel area. When done right, the 80% panels (called skins) work well. I'm not sure how crisp the chevrons are on the 69's since I've never done a 69, but others will tell you their thoughts. If the chevron area is nice, I would go with the 80% pieces and outer wheelhouses only. The best way to do the job is by installing them using only butt welds. When done correctly, they are stonger than lap welds, they won't create moisure traps for corrosion to start and with a bit of in-trunk grinding, the entire weld can be hidden. If you're thinking about having someone do it for you ask questions, don't just take it to the lowest bidder. good luck.

67 Is right on. You don't have to put full 1/4's to get a good job. I nutt weld all my partial 1/4's and when done right from inside and out noone will ever know the difference. In my opinion they're much easier to get in and working, verse the full ones that are reproduced.
I chrge between 4& 500 per side depending if it needs outer wheel well repair. It is a timely procedure so don't rush the installer. MAKE sure you get a gurantee on perfection..
Good luck RandyB.
