V0801 means the engine was assembled at the Flint assembly plant on Aug. 1st. I'm not sure what the DRL decodes as, but that should be a 2 character code, not three. 19L584193 is the VIN of the car it came out of. In this case, it is a 69 Camaro built at Van Nuys (hence the 19L). 584193 is the last 6 digits of the VIN of the origial car. Check around. Someone here may have the car and be interested in reuniting the motor to it's original car. It might be worth it $$ wise.:beers:

It's a 79 350 motor out of a car built in Van Nuys, CA.
VIN is wrong for a 69 LA car, as is the engine code.

Like Kurt said - 1979 Van Nuys assembled Camaro 'DRL' = 350 w/Auto trans & California Emissions package ...
3970010 block = common 70/80's 4.00" block.
V = Flint final engine assembly as stated
