By my question, you can tell I'm getting close!!!!!!! Ineed this info by Saturday.

Can someone give me the location of the parting line between the body color and the underside paint in the back edge of the hood?
Also, I think the underside should be 60% gloss black. Is that correct?
Thanks,

It is basicly at the lip that folds down, the outside is color the inside is black. At least it is on '65's

Unreal, drop JohnZ an email, I'm sure he won't mind looking at his car and maybe even sending you a pic of this area.

I asked this same question once and was told it was black ecoat on the underside and rear for my cowl hood with a light overspray of topcoat on the underside near the edge. Color on the top and 3 sides. That seems logical and acceptable to me.

Martinsr, thanks. I understood about the 2 sides and front.

My question is the back where the cowl scoop is. If I understand correctly, It should be black up to the underside of the lip, and then body color on the edge, and top. If I understand stingr69, I should not tape it off, but paint black first, then paint the lip body color, allowing some overspray onto the underside black.

Thankss for the help.

That's the way I did mine. I painted the underside Satin black and the painted the top sheetmetal the body color. When the top sheetmetal ends, that's where the paint ends.
I'm not positive if this is how the factory did it though. I masked mine off at that point. I doubt that the factory did that.
