Thanks JimM Dec 18th, 06, 08:38 AM "most likely" it will be attached to the top of the steering column, under the dash, and will be combined with the backup light swith. Look for 2 large purple wires. Note that the ignition switch will be there too, and will also have at least one of thos large pruple wires. wiskeesour Dec 18th, 06, 05:51 PM column or console car? I think some console cars are in a different spot...(those years anyway) CorkyE Dec 24th, 06, 04:36 PM column or console car? I think some console cars are in a different spot...(those years anyway) Nope - Console car has this goofy lever that runs up to the steering column just ahead of the firewall. Common switch for both. kausboy Dec 24th, 06, 04:49 PM IF someone put headers on the car, the chances are pretty good that the linkage to connect the console shift to the steering colum is gone and the neutral safety switch is inoperable. You would also not have any backup lights! If you have a console shift car you should be able to move the gear selector from park to Low and see the steering colum just ahead of the steering wheel move. If it isn't moving, your switch isn't working. Now if this is a manual car- I don't think it is the same goofy setup! |
