Well, I think I am going to fab my own crossmember for the TKO. I took some preliminary measurements and they are as follows:
muncie measures:
front of trans (where it bolts to the bell) to the center of the mount is 14 1/4
center of output shaft to the mount surface is 2 13/16

TKO
mnt to the bell 15 3/4
mnt to the centerline of output shaft is 2 3/16

So I am thinking if I copy my old crossmember only bring the mount location back 1 1/2" and bring it up 5/8" it should drop right in, right?

Also, my current crossmember is offset 1" to the passenger side. If I am going back with a small block I should center it between the frame rails, right?
I figure if I keep the output shaft in the same place as factory, it should minimize driveline angle problems.
Also I should mention that the car will be lowered 1 1/2 inches in the rear.

Any help or comments are greatly appreciated
Chris

I moved my SB crossmember back a bit, drilled new holes in the frame, put a taller mount on and called it a day.

What I 'almost' did was leave the crossmember it the original location and extend the mounting location somehow, maybe weld a thick plate on the crossmember with mounting holes for the tranny.

Cut the mounting tab off the TH400 mount and reweld it on the other side. It uses the stock mounting holes in the subframe. Mock everything up in the car to insure proper alignment and heights.

Thanks for the replies guys. So am I correct in assuming the small block is centered between the frame rails, or is it offset 1/2" like the crossmember I have now is?
