What do you guys think about this "Camaro Speedster" in SC? I can appreciate the time and effort that went into this car, but it just seems so over the top. It kind of reminds me of those cars from the late 70's and 80's with all the cazy body modifications. In 20 years are people going to look back and say what were those guys thinking? Its not even really a 69 Camaro anymore with all the stuff they changed. Why ruin a timeless body style?

Because it is bad ***. I wouldn't pay that kind of money but your not going to lose it in a parking lot.

This comes up a lot here... BM was over the top back in the day so they are keeping true to the name by pushing the envelope today.
Today looking back at what they were doing it doesn't seem that radical but it really was for the period.

The 60s-70s Motion cars were mostly built to customer order. Joel Rosen "Mr Motion" would give his input on what was available and would work with the customer to design the car.
At the Motion display in the Carlisle show they talked about building this new speedster and said it was being built for a customer. In the article, did they mention if it was built for a customer?

I'll agree and say the car is over the top and also agree that that was a Motion trait way back when. Look at the Phase III GT cars. Having seen the car in person at SEMA all the important lines of the car are vastly exagerated. The fender flares look like they should have continued onto the doors so they don't end so abruptly. Like the red coupe from last year it will photograph better than it appears. Like the red coupe someone will have to have it and pay what ever it takes to own it. After all it's a Motion car.
