man, these crooks just get me fuming. another one of my friends just got shot. they were chasing him because he had warrants. the first guy in got shot in the nassel passage and the neck. it doesnt look good for him. general hospital brought him back to breathing on his own. he is newly married with no more than 5 years in. this happened about 1 1/2 hours ago. it really makes me think about my family. make me think about getting out of swat and stop working in the projects. when i get home, my wife and mother in law are asking me to get a desk job but that is not my nature. anyway, this officer really needs your prayers.

update...they just pronounced him dead moments ago. the crook shot himself

I can understand what you are saying. I am just really sick of all the crime and careless disregard for human life. We have an officer here in Fresno that is just gettting back on his feet with rehab after being shot by a scum bag several months ago. We are all lucky that you and your bretheren have the where-with-all to be in law enforcement.

You know, it seems that every time I read about a fellow officer shot in the line of duty, they are less than 5 years on the job with a wife and one or two young children, usually less than a year or two old. I can't even begin to comprehend what the wives and families of these officers are dealing with after such a tragedy. I have been working for 4 years now and have experienced the funerals, which were heart-wrenching enough. There's nothing more moving than hundreds of police cars passing by on their way to a cop's funeral. Especially when you knew that cop from the academy. God bless the SFPD officer and his family, and the rest of the community who is mourning.

And Angelglo, do what your heart tells you regarding your current position... who knows when you could make the difference between saving someone's life or your own in that bad neighborhood. Just stay sharp...

Now, if you happen to get to a point in your career where you're on the same page as your family, make the decision for the right reasons. There is a lot of good that can be done in nicer areas, as well. And there are plenty of agencies looking to hire right now - laterals are really desirable.

Angel...
Our prayers are with him and his family. We just had a shootout in Fairhaven Ma where a man with an AR-15 tore up a cruiser and two officers, killed 2 people and then himself. The wounds the officers had were not life threatening..good thing. Its just crazy out there. I carry all the time now, day and night. And whenever I serve papers or do repo's, I have my regular carry weapon along with my backup and 4 D black flashlight/baton and mace. I do not envy those who are on the force and do protect and serve full time. Angel stay out of harms way...

I know many people in law enforcement, as I am a fireman and we work along side one another. They say we are crazy for running when when everyone else is running out. I say well if "it" gets too hot I can back out, you guys have to go get "it" out. My utmost respect.

Our prayers are with him and his family.

It breaks my heart to hear about my brothers and sisters in blue accross the nation becoming victims themselves. I have had co-workers get murdered on the job. I pray each night that the good lord keeps us safe each day and night. I understand people wanting you to do the desk job, and when awful things happen it sticks in my mind for a few days. There are two things that keep me in the business. There are good people out there and they need us to help themselves when they cannot. And the kids, I love to see the kids eyes light up when they see us in uniform. It not about the money, we all could get better paying jobs, its the self drive to be the good guy and to do the right thing.

I have backed off the projects, special teams, ect and focus "my" time on my family and what is important, they are the ones that will be there for us when stuff turns bad.

I will pray for your fellow officer and his family. Keep the faith brother!

Angelglo,
Thank god there are people like you who are willing to put their lives on the line for the rest of us. If it wasn't for you and your bros, the scumbags would tear down our society. Thank you for keeping me and my family safe. Our prayers are with your fallen officer's family.

This is an article about an Idaho State Trooper that was shot a couple of days ago. Very lucky to be alive. He still has some issues as they don't know how much damage was done to his spine yet. He is able to move arms, but not sure about his feet. He is in a drug induced coma. His wife is pregnant and his 2 year old has some issues that require Dr. care. The community is tepping up to finish buidling a home that he had started. You just can't be too careful anymore.

Angel. Sorry to hear about another fallen officer... You guys in blue are our unsung heroes. Seems like the only press you guys get is when you are accused of doing something wrong, not about all the great things you guys are performing in the community everyday. Angel, I know you have put in many years out there in the street and are willing to do so for many more, but maybe if the opportunity arises, getting out of harms way, for your wife and kids sake, it might be time. I know its a tough decision but, all my buddies on the force are now approaching 30 years and are switching to less hazardous duties, still helping the community....good luck with you decision....Again my condolences to the officer and his family. Be safe buddy...

As a retired paid firefighter, I feel your (our) loss. I have been to several public safety officer funerals- one of the most moving ( and gut wrenching) experiences you could ever have. The war against evil is going on everywhere, all the time- and our freedom comes at a high price at times.

God Bless those who are willing to do something about it- here and over there...

All the best to you during this Christmas season-

Rob

anyway, they realeased his name already so bryan was only married for a week. his wife is also a copper for less than 4 years. they work at the same station together. the wifes dad is also a copper and a good friend of mine who i came into the department with. another thing is that he was in the taravel. a district not really known for its crimes. its mostly residential and a nice neighborhhood, in fact i grew up there.

It's really hard to hear when something like this happens, especially this time of year around the holidays. You really feel for the families of the slain officers and what they have to go through. The bad memories of having to go to a loved one's funeral when you are suppose to be thankful for what you have and should be focusing on the positive things in life this time of year. Our prayers go out to the families of these fallen officers.

We salute the men and woman of the Police force who risk their lives everytime they are out there fighting crime so that others can be safe. Hats off to them!

I have the utmost respect for law enforcement people. It should be made a law that if an officer says stop or freeze you must stop immediately. If you do not the officer has every right to open fire.

Sorry to hear about that. My condolences.

Was he a SWAT officer too?

Hey Angel, I got to work last night and was updated on the SFPD case... it sure is sad hearing about all these officer deaths right around Christmas. We're wearing our mourning bands for your guy, as well as the other recent deaths... 2 ofcs shot in Long Beach, 1 last week in Oceanside, plus two CHP officers involved in collisions. Talk about a depressing holiday season - I hope new years brings a safer year for everyone.
