clwilcox33 Dec 23rd, 06, 05:13 PM Our cats can't stay out of boxes and bags. Mostly boxes though. If there is a box they can fit into anywhere in the house, they will just go and sit in it for hours. We got rid of the little kitty bed we had for them and just keep an empty box in our office for them to alternate sitting in while we're in there. I left a shoe box laying in the floor of my bedroom this week and it's been funny all week watching one of my fat-arsed cats trying to fit herself into it everyday.
02 camaro Dec 23rd, 06, 05:49 PM i have 3 cats and if you leave a box out they will sleep in it all night my cat travis he loves safeway bags hell lay on thenm forever! on and newspapers!
BillK Dec 23rd, 06, 06:43 PM Ours is the same way. Buy her a kitty bed and she wont go near it. Throw a grocery bag or empty box on the floor and she is there before it hits the ground :)
Gary L Dec 23rd, 06, 07:04 PM I don't have a cat now, but I found one of the neighbors cat under the hood of my Camaro twice. One of the times in between the inner and outter fenders by the headlight! :noway:
I think it is an instinct to hide or stay camouflaged.
zuma Dec 23rd, 06, 07:28 PM We had just came home from shopping and we left one of those shopping bags with those hand loops on them laying on its side on the floor, and naturally, my cat entered to explore it. She then tried to back out thru the bag and inadvertantly stepped thru one of the loops...thats when she got the loop stuck behind her front legs and panicked!! She then started running backwards at full speed trying to get out of this bag...:D Imagine my wife chasing a cat running all over the house at full speed in reverse trying to get out of this bag...I was just watching this from the couch and couldn't help because I was laughing too hard to move....:D
travis Dec 23rd, 06, 07:56 PM Ours do the same thing. They especially love those "fridge pacs" that cans of soda come in if. Somehow one will manage to stuff their butt into one, with just the end of their tail sticking out, and then another one will get on top of the box and swat the tail thats sticking out :D
They also love paper grocery sacks. Usually one will get inside, then another one will see the sack moving or wiggling and will go into a low crouch, sneak up on the sack, and then pounce. And then its on...a single paw will usually come out of the sack and start swatting at everything :D
If you really want to see something funny, give them a plastic bottle cap or a tightly wadded up piece of aluminum foil on a linolium or tile floor!

Try one of those lazer pointers...they go crazy for them too!...:D
mkpatrick Dec 23rd, 06, 09:16 PM I know the feeling.
Our cat, just today, I find in the box laying all over my brand new, yet to be installed Black Mountain Precision parts!!
This cat is weird. She sits on the table and waits for the dowg to show up. Who, invariably will stick her big yellow beak right up in the cats face.
And then.........
:boxing:
That cat can throw some jabs and hooks that would make ANY boxer jealous.
