Well, I'm new here and I've been reading through all the posts about 400's that have or are being built and have a combo I am looking to put together for my first 400. This short block is an original unmachined low mileage unit that has newer hyperutectic pistons with looks to be about 12cc dish, I haven't cc'd them yet to confirm, rings, bearings and ARP hardware in it. It is a stock bottom end essentially with no machine work, stock bore, and no decking to the block, looks like the pistons come in at about .024" in the hole at the top. I am looking to using my existing Trick Flow Twisted Wedge 64cc heads with one of the new Lunati Voodoo cams, the #60104LK piece. It is a flat hyd. flat tappet cam, for bugetary reasons, and I will be using my Air Gap RPM dual plane intake with a Holley 750 carb and 1 3/4" headers. Has anyone here tried one of those cams yet? I don't think I can use the largest of the Voodoo cams since I won't have the compression needed and the #60104 unit is more suited with the parts I already have. The cam has .233int/.241exh duration @ .050" and .276int/.284exh adv. duration with lobe a seperation of 110/106 and .504int/.525exh gross valve lift. I would like to get to about 10:1 compression so I am sure that I will need to mill the heads some since this is a stock short block with a .039" head gasket. Sorry for the long thread, but what do you think? Thanks for any info and advice:thumbsup:

IIRC, the twisted wedge heads had a pretty killer exhaust port and an excellent i/e ratio, meaning that a single pattern cam would be a much better choice (much stronger midrange).
