The long block is all stock except for the cam. The L-65 had a 9to1 cr in stock form. What cc. are the stock heads?

Trying to decide if I want to build on this short block. "HD" code

I figure 76 cc chambered heads with .020" thick shim headgaskets and -5 cc 4-notch flat-top pistons create a 9 to 1 CR..

64 cc heads should put you right around 10 to 1 like the 295/300hp/L-48 engine.

Pdq, would you say that the 4 notch piston is equivilent to Trw 2256F? Some books I look at tell me 5cc and my older books say -5. These pistons are for a 350,, The question just reminded me of something else.

I don't know piston part numbers, so just as long as it is a stock type, about .025" down-in-the-hole 4-notch, flat-top piston, I figure you will be fine..

I detail this all out like this b/c some are selling rebuilder pistons that can be a down-in-the-hole of .050" and deeper b/c they figure guys will plane their warped decks smooth by like .025" or so..

So watch this...
