Hello all,

I'm still not an official owner of a camaro but i plan on buying my 1999-2001 sometime in 2007. I plan to buy a Z28 SS with the LS1 and drop a VORTECH supercharger in it. What other modifications can i do to improve my acceleration if possible to match or beat that of an STi. And how fast do you think a supercharged camaro can do the 1/4 mile in.

What's an STi? I've seen magazine articles on 9-second S/C Camaros, so they can be pretty quick.

A stock SS runs low to mid 13's stock with a six speed. With the supercharger it should kill the STI in the 1/4

though you might concider a forged lower end
pistons crank etc.
factory cast parts wont hold up to the blower demands.
also concider a cam made for the blower.

With just bolt on stuff, cat back, headers, and such the LS1 is a 12 sec. runner.

Motor Trend has the 2006 WRX STI running a 13.0 and costing 33,000.
You do not need a supercharger to bury one of these.
