Sorry if these are not Camaro questions....but I have a radiator out of my '68 factory 396 3/4 ton truck. I also have a '68 1/2 short bed that I'm building a pro-streeter out of. The radiators look exactly the same and the short bed has an inline 250 6 banger......but it's very thick. How can you tell the diff from the so-called "4 core" radiator and all the others???? Do you go by an overall thickness measurement or something else???? Thanks!!!!

Remove the radiator's cap and look inside. There should be either two rows of tubes (cores) for a six cylinder car w/o A/C, and three rows of tubes for a V-8. If it came with a V-8 and A/C it got four rows of tubes, or four cores. From '69 on up all big blocks got four core radiators, whether equipped with an A/C or not.
A SBC Camaro/Nova radiator is 21 inches wide (between the reservoirs or tanks on the ends), and a BBC radiator is 23 inches wide. To be "correct" the brass tag on the end of the Harrison radiator should have the correct code corresponding to year and model and equipment installed (it told the assembly guy which radiator went in which car according to the build sheet).
Trucks have taller raditors than cars but the widths still correspond.
