What would be an estimate of value of DZ302 and M22 unknown mileage, unknown condition was running when removed from car?

Trans would be worth atleast $1000 if a camaro vin is on the case and the motor I've seen sale for atleast $1500. I guess it also depends on what someone is willing to pay for it.

It would probably make a huge difference if the muncie and engine were both stamped with the same VIN. The M22 will bring at least a grand and up to $1600ish if rebuilt, cleaned and presented well. The DZ I've seen go for a couple grand rebuilt, but more than that if they are unopened and covered in grease....

something you have and want to sell, or something you have a line on and want to purchase?

The last complete DZ engine (carb to pan, alt, water pump, fan, manifolds, dist and flywheel) I saw was forsale for $5500. Owner didn't know if it ran or if it had ever been opened up. Owner said buy it assuming it would need to be gone through. That was about 6-8 mo ago...

I have seen M22 trans bring close to $2,000. The motor depends on how many of the original components are there. The distributor, exhaust manifolds, original stamped DZ block, 1182 crank, 472 intake, deep groove pulleys are all high dollar items by themselves. If everything is there I don't think $5500 is too far off.

I picked up my 302DZ last Dec, complete from pan to 4053 carb for $5950. It had the correct pulleys, intake, water pump, starter, distributor, no exhaust manifolds, all correct internals, valve covers, bellhousing, plate and clutch. All in beautiful condition. Didn't even have to rebuild. I think I was very lucky. After coverting all the engine bay components back to original, I easily have doubled that amount. And I thought my car was done!!! Since I didn't have the original tranny, I went with an Autogear M22.
