So I have heard a lot of good things about Amsoil products - but what I'd like to know is how/where people buy it. Do you order it online? Do you have a local independent distributor? How do the prices compare? Like their syn oil to Mobil1 for motor oil or their gear oil to Valvoline?

I'm just trying to find the easiest way to come by the stuff. If it's not too painful I'd like to switch all of my vehicles to it, I'm just having a hard time figuring out how to buy it :)

Oh by the way, I'm in the Portland, OR area.

Thanks!

Lortsie, there are dealers in all states and most large cities. Im a dealer in Minnesota and big gear head is a dealer in KY. You can go to the www.amsoil.com site and buy retail and have it shipped to you. You can find the closest dealer at that site by zip code or you can also acquire your own dealer status and buy at cost from that website if you want too. All you need is a referring dealer's number. mine is #13,975
Prices are a bit more than mobile and higher than most other syns but the quality of the product is also above that of most others as well. You get what you pay for. Dont compare partial syns to Amsoil 100% syn either. Keep your comparisons apples to apples so you better understand why the price is slightly higher. With so much money in our car's engines, a few bucks for the best oil makes alot of sense to me. :)
